This Armoury Door is my biggest job to date!

The door itself is made from 6mm thick sheet steel, braced by 50mm x 50mm Box section all the way round the outside and down the middle.

This door is fitted with three high security, heavy duty locks and hung on three 150mm x 150mm x 6mm hinges and weighs over 17 stone (108kg) by itself.

The frame is custom made to fold around the wall with little to no wiggle room, bolted in place from both sides and welded all the way around each seam.

The bottom of the frame itself is also concreted into the floor for added strength and security.

Despite the challenges that were faced in the making of this armoury steel door, it has been officially inspected by the police and not only did it pass the inspection with no advisories, it overcame the criteria in many ways!

I am very proud of this project and the lessons I have learnt from making it, and I look forward to many other jobs and the challenges that they come with.
